POSITION SUMMARY:

The Branch Leader plays a pivotal role in the seamless execution of daily operations, providing essential support and guidance at a branch location. Collaborating closely with the city desk and warehouse team, the Branch Leader is tasked with regular assessment of business practices, ensuring they are in line with the company’s strategic initiatives. This dynamic role requires the creation of robust plans aimed at achieving set goals, as well as the flexibility to implement course corrections to secure the desired outcomes.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Branch Leader oversees all operational components, which include scheduling, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary procedures. A critical aspect of this position is the management of inventory reports—running, reviewing, and investigating any discrepancies that arise. The Branch Leader is also responsible for the approval and processing of product credits, ensuring that all orders are billed accurately and in a timely manner. Furthermore, this role involves addressing customer complaints and resolving problems, thereby upholding the company’s commitment to exceptional service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and support the city desk and warehouse teams by providing day-to-day operational guidance, setting clear expectations, and monitoring branch initiatives to ensure financial objectives are met while reinforcing Tenet’s culture and service standards.
  • Directly support business development sales initiatives by facilitating accurate quotes, timely order entry, efficient fulfillment, and coordinated procurement and replenishment activities to support customer commitments and profitable growth.
  • Regularly review and manage the annual branch budget, in partnership with the company controller, by monitoring financial performance, reviewing variances, forecasting results, and adjusting operational plans to align with budgeted goals.
  • Ensure training, performance reviews and individual development plans are in place in partnership with HR by supporting effective onboarding, ongoing skills training, timely evaluations, and structured development planning to strengthen individual and team performance.
  • Enhance operational systems, processes, and policies to support the organization’s mission, including improving management reporting, standardizing workflows, and supporting effective organizational and resource planning.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts and manage branch inventory, including identifying and tracking at-risk inventory, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring inventory accuracy, availability, and proper controls.
  • Maintain a high level of operational proficiency and set an example for others to follow by remaining knowledgeable in branch systems, procedures, and best practices while demonstrating accountability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ensuring compliance and safety measures are consistently followed by enforcing company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, and by addressing issues promptly to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of operational processes and procedures by identifying improvement opportunities, documenting standard practices, and supporting consistent execution across the branch.
  • Work collaboratively with the operations, purchasing, procurement, business development, accounting, and marketing teams to coordinate sourcing and replenishment activities, align vendor and inventory strategies, and ensure branch operations support broader company objectives and customer commitments.
  • Oversee branch assets and facility maintenance by ensuring equipment, vehicles, forklifts, and other branch assets are maintained, tracked and repaired on schedule. Coordinate building maintenance to minimize downtime and protect operational continuity.  
  • Support warehouse and city desk coverage as needed to meet service expectations by stepping into operational gaps and assigning resources appropriately.
  • Advocate for Tenet’s Mission, Vision, Values and the Employee Operating Code by modeling expected behaviors, reinforcing standards through communication and coaching, and ensuring alignment in daily decision-making.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, sales or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in construction related sales or management, including responsibility for budgetary objectives.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires the ability to travel to customers’ offices, job sites, industry and training events, and other Tenet locations as needed.
  • Travel will primarily be by car, with occasional flights for longer distances.
