Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Service Department Manager to our Auburn, ME team. This role oversees and supports service department operations, with responsibility for customer satisfaction, scheduling and dispatch, material coordination, quoting, and service-team leadership. Success in this role requires strong operational leadership, clear communication, customer focus, organization, and fire/life-safety industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate branch service sales goals and budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate credit policies and procedures.
  • Ensure clients receive quality service, responsive follow-up, and courteous support.
  • Interface directly with customers to resolve service-related issues.
  • Plan goals and objectives for service operations.
  • Coordinate parts and equipment needed to perform service work.
  • Schedule, prioritize, and dispatch service requests.
  • Manage service work with customers and other trades as required.
  • Prepare sales quotes for service and inspections and review sales staff quotes for accuracy as needed.
  • Maintain the service fleet and materials to support ongoing operational needs.
  • Communicate direction and information clearly with management, employees, clients, and external vendors.
  • Directly supervise service employees working in the office and field.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five years of fire protection or related industry experience.
  • Prior business experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and other work-related documents.
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic business and mathematical calculations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NFPA certification.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Perform office, shop, and on-site work in moderately noisy environments.
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch on a daily basis.
  • Work periodically in wet or humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and around fumes.
  • Perform regular computer work.

COMPENSATION

The salary for this role is $90,000 to $120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
