WATER TRUCK DRIVER

Location: Center, North Dakota

Ulland Brothers has an immediate opening for a Water Truck Driver in Center, North Dakota. This position is responsible for safely operating a water truck in support of construction activities, including dust control and maintaining jobsite roads.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Safely operate a water truck on construction sites and designated routes.
  2. Fill, transport and distribute water for dust control and other construction-related needs.
  3. Operate water pumps, spray bars, hoses and related equipment.
  4. Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  5. Perform routine preventive maintenance, including checking fluid levels, hoses, tires, brakes, lights and safety equipment.
  6. Report equipment defects and needed repairs promptly.
  7. Maintain required vehicle and inspection documentation.
  8. Follow company safety policies, traffic regulations and site-specific requirements.
  9. Complete additional assignments and required in-person or online training as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safe operating practices.
  2. Ability to safely operate a water truck around employees, vehicles and heavy equipment.
  3. Ability to operate water pumps, spray systems and related components.
  4. Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
  5. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  6. Ability to recognize hazards and respond appropriately.
  7. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with supervisors and other crew members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License or higher.
  • Tanker endorsement required.
  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • At least 12 months of truck-driving experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Water truck or construction-site driving experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position requires working outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions. The work frequently involves sitting, standing, climbing into and out of equipment, manipulating controls and performing routine inspections throughout the workday.
