Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Lifestyle Coordinator to join our Memory Care team. This role is responsible for designing and implementing meaningful, person-centered programs that enhance the quality of life for residents living with cognitive impairments, including dementia and Alzheimer’s. The ideal candidate will bring patience, empathy, and a passion for enriching the daily experiences of our residents.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and lead engaging daily activities tailored to residents with memory loss, focusing on cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being, and physical engagement
- Foster a calm, structured, and supportive environment that promotes dignity and independence
- Create individualized and group programming that reflects residents’ past interests, abilities, and life histories
- Develop and post a monthly schedule of member activities by the first day of the month. Maintain a record of activities for twelve calendar months at all times. Make records available to regulatory agencies upon request.
- Collaborate with nursing and care staff to ensure activities align with resident care plans
- Monitor and document resident participation, engagement levels, and behavioral responses
- Adapt programming based on changing cognitive and physical abilities
- Encourage family involvement and maintain open communication with residents’ loved ones
- Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and sensory-based experiences
- Ensure compliance with all state regulations and community standards for memory care programming
- Assist in coordinating transportation and accompany residents on outings as scheduled.
- Assist with the volunteer program to meet the program needs of the residents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Why You Are Qualified:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous experience in activities, recreation, or life enrichment—preferably in memory care, assisted living, or healthcare settings
- Understanding of dementia-related conditions and person-centered care approaches
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in a dynamic environment
- Creative mindset with the ability to engage residents at varying cognitive levels
- On a daily basis, throughout the workday: Must be capable of sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching and kneeling, reaching over the head, grasping with both hands, and fine manipulation. Must physically be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Certified Activity Professional or equivalent preferred.
