Workshop Instructor

Baker Garden & Gift | Fargo, ND

Part-Time / Seasonal

Share your creativity. Teach something new. Help create memorable experiences.

Baker's workshops bring people together to learn, create, and enjoy hands-on projects in a fun and welcoming environment. We're looking for enthusiastic Workshop Instructors to help lead these experiences throughout the fall and winter seasons.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, feels comfortable speaking to groups, and would love a flexible, part-time role with a limited time commitment.

Whether you're a plant enthusiast, a creative hobbyist, a former teacher, a natural host, or simply someone who enjoys helping others learn, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead customers through hands-on workshop projects using provided materials and instructions
  • Create a positive, engaging, and welcoming experience for participants
  • Assist customers throughout the workshop and answer questions
  • Prepare materials and workstations before events
  • Help clean up and reset spaces following workshops
  • Share feedback and observations with the Marketing Manager

What We're Looking For

  • Comfortable speaking in front of small and medium-sized groups
  • Friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Able to follow provided workshop plans and instructions
  • Comfortable leading groups through hands-on activities
  • Interested in creating a fun and memorable experience for customers
  • Previous experience in customer service, education, training, presentations, or group activities is helpful but not required
  • We’d love plant experience, but we're equally excited to meet candidates with strong people skills and a passion for helping others learn.

Schedule

  • Seasonal position running primarily from September through March
  • Most workshops require approximately two hours, including setup and cleanup
  • Workshop opportunities are offered based on seasonal programming and customer demand
  • Scheduling flexibility and availability for evening and weekend workshops is needed

What to Expect

This is an active, hands-on role that combines customer interaction, creativity, and light physical work. Workshop Instructors spend time preparing materials, leading participants through projects, and helping clean up afterward.

You'll work with plants, soil, containers, and seasonal materials in a garden center environment. The role includes setting up workshop spaces, moving materials and supplies, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Depending on the season, you may work in both indoor retail and greenhouse spaces with varying temperatures.

Most workshop opportunities are scheduled during evenings and weekends when customers are available to attend.

If you enjoy connecting with people, leading hands-on activities, and helping others create something they can take home and enjoy, we'd love to hear from you.
