Division Safety Coordinator

Full-Time Salaried In-Office |   Approximately 35 Percent Overnight Travel   |   Reports to Corporate HSE Manager

Support safe, compliant pipeline and marine construction operations. The Division Safety Coordinator works closely with management to develop site safety plans, conduct scope-of-work reviews, and assist with project planning. Additionally, you will work closely with Project HSE Coordinators and field crews to identify hazards, coach safe work practices, maintain training and compliance records, and coordinate incident follow-up.

Position Responsibilities

• Conduct and document routine inspections of active work sites and equipment; identify immediate and potential hazards and coordinate corrective action.
• Plan and deliver weekly safety meetings addressing hazard communication, hazardous materials, personal protective equipment, hazard recognition, last-minute risk assessments, observation cards, and lessons learned from incidents.
• Investigate incidents; complete required reports, communicate findings to appropriate leadership, and support follow-up through resolution.
• Manage project training compliance and assist with training delivery as necessary.
• Interpret and support compliance with company safety requirements and applicable governmental regulations.
• Prepare accurate reports and safety statistics, protect confidential information, and work independently with limited supervision.
• Provide practical coaching to employees and leaders and recommend effective controls for changing field hazards.

  Required Qualifications

• Three to five years of safety experience supporting pipeline or marine construction.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with craft employees, management, and emergency response personnel.
• Ability to use a computer and knowledge of  Windows and Microsoft products.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize hazards, assess changing field conditions, recommend corrective actions, prepare accurate reports, and teach safety-related subjects.
• Ability to work full time from the Delcambre, Louisiana office when not traveling to project locations.
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 35 percent of the time.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

  Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in occupational safety and health, environmental health and safety, safety management, industrial hygiene, construction management, or related discipline.
• Current Board of Certified Safety Professionals credential, such as CHST, OHST, ASP, or CSP.
• OSHA 500 or OSHA 501 trainer authorization.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position includes office and field work in pipeline and marine construction environments. The employee must be able to travel by vehicle and on foot around job sites; work in extreme heat or cold and varying light conditions; see, hear, and communicate effectively; and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
