Grunau is looking for an Electrical and Controls Project Manager to join our driven and dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets. Establish project objectives, specifications, and deliverables.
- Team Coordination: Lead/coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, contractors, and vendors, to execute project tasks efficiently estimating/creating proposals for HVAC control systems, BAS and line voltage electrical systems.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication of project status, milestones, and any issues that may arise.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and create mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and company quality standards.
- Budget Management: Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets. Work with accounting to book jobs/work orders, change orders and financially forecast jobs.
- Progress Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on project status, progress, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Subcontracts: Request bids from, award and manage subcontracts.
- Labor Management: Management of NAC engineering and technician labor for submittals, material order, programming, graphic development and commissioning.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management (or a related Field) or equivalent field experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, particularly in building automation or a related industry, or sufficient field experience.
- Project Management Skills: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading/developing HVAC control and electrical:
- Job plans and specifications.
- Wiring and equipment schematics.
- Control strategies.
- Microsoft Office: Word and Excel, knowledge of Share Point a plus
- Reading, interpreting and implementing electrical codes
Preferred experience:
- Digital HVAC control or related systems design and/or installation
- Managing installation of digital control or related systems.
- Designing and applying digital control, electrical equipment and gear or related systems.
- Understanding of electrical systems and standards
