POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for leading inbound and receiving activities and maintaining accurate warehouse inventory levels by strategically allocating locations and creating bins. This position oversees the safe, timely, and accurate receipt, documentation, put-away, and system processing of incoming freight while administering cycle counts, bin accuracy, inventory reconciliation, and related controls within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system, including NetSuite where applicable. The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with the Branch Leader, Supply Chain, Warehouse Lead, Warehouse Team, and other teammates to support product availability, deliver exceptional customer service, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead and coordinate warehouse teammates performing inbound receiving, unloading, inspection, staging, put-away, and related material-handling activities; reinforce safe, accurate, and efficient work practices.
- Ensure incoming freight transactions, receiving documentation, purchase-order receipts, and WMS/ERP updates are complete, timely, and accurate.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for received goods, location assignments, bin setup, transfers, and adjustments in the WMS/ERP system.
- Perform and coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, and on-demand cycle counts, recounts, physical inventory counts, bin audits, and spot checks.
- Research, reconcile, and document inventory discrepancies - including quantity variances, misplaced material, damaged product, and transaction errors - resolving routine issues when possible and communicating escalated or unresolved matters to the Branch Leader or Supply Chain Manager.
- Monitor and help improve receiving and inventory accuracy through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, standard work, and process-improvement initiatives.
- Create, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inbound and inventory-control activities; train teammates on applicable processes and expectations.
- Maintain organized, properly labeled inventory and receiving areas that meet safety, housekeeping, and operational standards.
- Support tracking of slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or nonconforming inventory; provide accurate information and recommendations to warehouse and supply chain leadership.
- Prepare or support accurate inventory and receiving reports for Procurement, Warehouse Leadership, Management, and other internal partners, as needed.
- Collaborate with warehouse leadership and teammates to resolve issues affecting receiving, shipping, put-away, replenishment, transfers, invoicing, and customer service.
- Ensure inbound paperwork and related records are organized, accurate, and retained in accordance with company processes.
- Maintain required PPE usage and promote a safe, clean work environment for employees and visitors.
- Perform warehouse duties, including receiving, shipping, loading, unloading, moving materials, and other administrative tasks, as necessary or assigned.
- Provide professional internal and external customer service; support product-information requests and other warehouse interactions as needed.
- Assist the Branch Leader and Warehouse Lead with special assignments.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using EMS and/or ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; able to train and collaborate effectively with warehouse teammates and internal partners.
- Self-motivated, dependable, team-oriented, and committed to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
- Strong customer-service mindset and ability to maintain awareness of product details and operational updates.
- Ability to create, follow, and improve standard operating procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inbound logistics, inventory control, production, or a related field required.
- Experience with computerized inventory control, WMS, or ERP systems required, NetSuite experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, receiving transactions, and inventory record accuracy preferred.
- Experience creating SOPs, training teammates, or leading warehouse activities preferred.
- Current forklift certification required or ability to become certified (training provided by employer)
- At least one year of forklift experience required.
- Customer service experience required; construction-industry experience preferred.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the ability to travel to customers’ offices, job sites, industry and training events, and other Tenet locations as needed.
- Travel will primarily be by car, with occasional flights for longer distances.

- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
