Pike Construction Services is looking for an experienced Class A Lowboy Driver to join our Asset Management team. This role is responsible for safely transporting heavy construction equipment, materials, tools, and other assets between our warehouse, jobsites, and other locations.

The ideal candidate has experience operating lowboy trailers and heavy construction equipment, takes pride in maintaining equipment, and understands the importance of safety, reliability, and keeping our project teams moving.

What You'll Do

As a Class A Lowboy Driver, you will:

  • Safely transport heavy construction equipment, materials, tools, and other assets to and from jobsites and company locations.

  • Operate lowboy trailers and construction equipment used for loading and unloading.

  • Review schedules, work orders, and shipping information to coordinate daily transportation needs.

  • Perform required safety inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment before transport.

  • Properly secure equipment and loads for safe transportation.

  • Coordinate required permits for oversize and over-width loads.

  • Load, unload, receive, store, and distribute materials and equipment.

  • Maintain accurate records of materials and equipment received or distributed.

  • Assist with organizing and maintaining the warehouse and storage areas.

  • Perform minor truck, small-engine, tool, and equipment repairs based on experience and ability.

  • Work closely with the Asset Management team to coordinate schedules and transportation priorities.

  • Follow all DOT requirements, safety procedures, company policies, and applicable regulations.

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and our projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class A CDL with interstate driving eligibility required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of Class A CDL driving experience required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating lowboy trailers and heavy construction equipment required.

  • Safe driving record and ability to maintain required licensing.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction equipment.

  • Experience with oversize and over-width loads and permitting preferred.

  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.

  • Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with project teams and Asset Management.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Associate degree in a related field and/or at least two years of relevant experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Physical & Work Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that includes working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions. The role requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle equipment, and lift or carry up to 75 pounds.

Compensation

The anticipated pay range for this position is $27.00–$35.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, and other job-related considerations.
