Duffield Associates is looking for staff to work out of our Wilmington, DE, West Deptford, NJ, and Phila, PA offices.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Geotechnical Engineer shall be in direct responsible charge of engineering work, in direct control and supervision of other performing tasks required in professional practice of engineering. Candidate shall be a licensed engineer (or able to become licensed within 6 months) with at least 4 years of professional practice specific to engineering design of foundations and marine structures with experience from design through to construction.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing geotechnical and structural engineering projects from proposal though construction, including managing field and laboratory evaluations, performing engineering analysis, and consulting client during project implementation, including construction administration, quality control, and quality assurance;
- Documentation, reduction, analysis, and reporting of field and laboratory data;
- Proposal preparation, engineering analysis and report preparation;
- Performing and managing construction materials testing, construction review, and interpretation of construction specifications;
- Performing and managing field investigation and soil laboratory testing;
- Evaluating and completing permits for industrial and marine construction
- Analysis and field review for shallow and deep foundations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering; preference given to candidates with a master’s degree;
- Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in the discipline of geotechnical and structural analysis;
- Professional licensure in DE, MD, NJ, PA or ability to acquire licensure within 6 months;
- Enthusiasm for engineering, construction, and working in a team environment;
- Diverse experience with a focus on problem solving and difficult field applications;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
