EDP (Employee Development Program)

The EDP will receive orientation/assimilation, mentorship, leadership/managerial development, and assessment while completing the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes rotations at each of the Company’s locations – five to 10 weeks at a time
  • Completes rotations in the following objectives: General, Project Management, Sales, Design, Purchasing, Accounting, Safety, Human Resources
  • Works closely with the branch manager from each location to ensure that the best direction in the development of the EDP is taken
  • Completes on-line trainings: OSHA10, Project Manager’s course, Fire/Alarm Course, two (2) sprinkler introduction and design courses
  • Follows through on goal accomplishments
  • Takes commitment and ownership in their own development plan

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • None

 

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Good oral, written and telephone communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Moderate to advance computer skills
  • Time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, analyze building construction documents
  • Good mathematical skills

 

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school diploma / GED required
  • Associate’s degree and one year of experience in the construction or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Valid State Driver License

 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Office environment – moderate noise
  • Construction job sites – moderate to heavy noise, uneven ground, may be subject to heights
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Ability to utilize a computer and phone consistently throughout the day
  • May be required to visit customer locations from time to time
