SUMMARY

Drives truck with capacity of less than 26,000 lbs. to transport trench plates, k-rail, steel trench boxes and other materials to and from construction sites by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Drives truck to destination and operates a crane to load and unload T.P.R products.

Secures loads using cheater bars, chains, tie down straps and binders to flatbed trucks and or trailer.

Receives pickup/delivery instructions from Customer Service/Dispatch through assignment sheets or through two-way radios.

Maintains truck log according to local State and Federal regulations.

Conducts pre-trip and post trip inspections of truck and or trailer to ensure that all equipment is safe and in good working order.

Responsible for ensuring that loads are of the appropriate weight, height for the vehicle, and is properly secured for transportation.

Responsible for knowing and adhering to all of the T.P.R. Codes of Safe Practice in the performance of their duties.

May be assigned to temporary duty at other branches as needed.

May be assigned to duties that would require overnight travel to transport products or equipment.

May be assigned to duties or shifts that require week end work.

Regular and punctual attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with a minimum of three years direct experience driving vehicles that require a Class C Driver’s License.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current Class C Driver’s License issued from the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
