JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primarily responsible for selling air conditioning and heating equipment (HVAC systems) direct to home owners via in-home presentation through prequalified sales leads.  Work closely with service technicians, sales & install coordinators, installers, management/supervisors, and any others necessary to provide timely and accurate system replacement estimates for customers in order to close sales while meeting customers’ home heating & cooling needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide sales estimates from prequalified leads while maintaining excellent customer service and closing sales
  • Collect customer’s information and explain financing options
  • Cooperate with other departments to continually improve the process and flow of information
  • Document customer sale notes carefully
  • Continually expand knowledge of current HVAC standards, products, and home construction
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance in all working conditions
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager

 MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of proven success in selling direct to home owners via in-home presentation
  • Valid local driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • Acceptable criminal background record
  • Abstinence from drugs with clean drug screening results
  • Strong sales, customer service, and closing skills
  • Exceptional communication/interpersonal skills
  • Assertive and confident personality
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks accurately

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Highly preferred prior knowledge related to home construction, HVAC, general mechanics, and handyperson repair
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D., or college degree preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in the Spanish language is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend, stoop, balance, crouch, sit for extended amounts of time.  The employee is also required to use hands to finger or feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, see and speak.  The employee must occasionally lift one’s own bodyweight to climb up attic scuttle holes and be able to crawl through tight crawl spaces.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The duties of this job are performed frequently in extreme hot (up to 140 degrees F) to cold (below 32 degrees F) weather conditions and in confined/close spaces, i.e. crawl spaces and attics.  This job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by company policy.
