Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, related PC software, telephones,
cables, and connectors. Provides personal computer, thin client hardware, software support and
Avaya Phone system support. Installs, services, and repairs personal computers, tablets, laptops
and installs company software. Connects personal computers and terminals to existing data
networks. Maintains trouble logs. Instructs users in the use of personal computers and
networks. Administrative support for Avaya PBX systems. Investigates information, network,
and communications needs of users, and makes recommendations regarding software and
hardware. Moves equipment from office to office.
Position includes coordination with users, IT staff, and network administrators.
Provides support to users and troubleshoots/resolves problems.
Responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of customer satisfaction according to defined
objectives while adhering to established policies.
Works with engineers to resolve support issues, escalating to proper personnel where
appropriate. Contact approved vendors for technical support.
Participates in new installations, testing and special projects as needed.
Position spends significant portion of the day in the field supporting offices and moving
equipment.
Maintains all support work orders in company helpdesk system
May participate in after-hours support via cell phone and remote access to PC and/or network
May include travel commitments, up to 15%
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•CompTIA A+ or Network+
•Certification in related OS (MS Windows, Red Hat Linux)
•Proficiency in Microsoft products (ex. Windows 7, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio,
PowerShell)
•Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs
•Experience in Active Directory configuring user and computer account
Proficient with managing and configuring Avaya Phone system
