Aureon HR has an opening for a HR Specialist. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Research issues in relation to state and federal employment laws and expands knowledge in FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Unemployment and other applicable state and Federal laws
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding all Leave of Absence issues including but not limited to: Federal FMLA, State Sponsored FMLA, HIPAA, USERRA, FLSA, Unemployment, and other related laws
  • In-depth knowledge of FMLA regulations/rules, practices and procedures and other Leave of Absence policies and processing
  • Assist HR Business Partners to ensure clients are operating in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Provide direct consultation to clients as necessary. Communicates with regulatory authorities, physicians and other parties as required to demonstrate legal compliance and advocate for the best interest of the client and Aureon HR as co-employer
  • Provide telephonic assistance to worksite employees regarding general questions pertaining to Leave of Absence policies and procedures
  • Handle all assigned inbound requests for Leave of Absence and unemployment claims and ensures the appropriate information is documented and the process is followed in compliance with all regulatory standards
  • Prepare and send standard letters and appropriate documentation to clients, employees and administrative oversight parties on leaves of absence and unemployment claims. Ensures that all information presented is thorough, accurate, and legally compliant
  • Respond to phone inquiries from clients and worksite employees regarding status updates to leave and unemployment cases. Provides proactive communication to clients, HR Business Partners, employees and other interested parties in a manner that is representative of best practice standards
  • Draft/modify existing correspondence for employees on or requesting leave
  • Track, record, and maintain all active leave and unemployment cases through completion
  • Coordinate and update information with other functional groups that interact with the leave and unemployment process in a timely manner
  • Maintains client and employee confidentiality at all times
  • Uses expertise to assist in the preparation of core service items for clients and as requested by the HR Business Partners
  • Provides metric data related to unemployment claims and leaves of absences to Director, Client HR and clients as requested
  • Partner with HRBPs to conduct investigations related to allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
  • Collaborate with HRBPs to assist clients with the open enrollment process
  • Conduct and/or assist with client specific training as needed

  

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university in human resources, business, or related field
  • At least one year related HR generalist experience and/or training: or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

  • Certified in PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP within one year of meeting testing qualifications
  • Leave of absence and unemployment administration experience

  • Utilize work experience and judgment to strategically plan and accomplish goals.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, employees, superiors and business contacts in a professional, timely and courteous manner
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, often changing assignments on short notice
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality standards

 

TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND SOFTWARE:

  • Must be able to proficiently operate Windows PC with MS Office and MS Outlook
  • Familiar use with HRIS and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
