FIRE ALARM DESIGNER/SALES

The Fire Alarm Designer/Sales person will design fire alarm systems to all code specifications and assist the Company in establishing new customers and building on current relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design fire alarm systems to all code specifications
  • Generating new relationships for department and all of Reliance
  • Grow department back log and establish solid project management
  • Training incoming designers and sales
  • Manage the life cycle of sold projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Good oral, written and telephone communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and complete duties and projects with moderate supervison
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills
  • Time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, analyze building construction documents
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of all Local AHJ requirement for MD, VA, and DC
  • Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70, 72, and the IBC
  • Monitoring knowledge

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma / GED required
  • Associate’s degree preferred with an Engineering degree a plus
  • Proficient in AUTOCAD, Microsoft Office, AdobePro or Bluebeam
  • Two plus years of previous Fire Protection Systems design or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • One year of sales experience is a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid State Driver License
  • NICET III for Fire Alarm Systems a must

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Office environment – moderate noise
  • Construction job sites – moderate to heavy noise, uneven ground, may be subject to heights
  • Ability to maneuver in restricted, poorly lit spaces
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • May be required to climb ladders up to 6 feet
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
