This is a new department and as a purchasing manager, you will play an integral role in ensuring that our technicians have the correct inventory to meet their needs. The Procurement Services team assists technicians by enhancing and improving the effectiveness of internal purchasing functions while reducing costs, optimizing business processes, and improving value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver services internally including transactional purchasing, contract management, and strategic sourcing efforts
  • Manage multi-locations needs
  • Resolve and address any internal / external issues that might arise
  • Develop procurement goals and related activities
  • Develop and implement measurement tools and tracking to ensure vendor contract compliance
  • Oversee the management of and negotiations with vendors; primary negotiator on key accounts; negotiate for favorable buying terms with our vendor partners
  • Work closely with the Accounting Department and assist them in the resolution of vendor, end user, pricing, and accounts payable issues
  • Develop and implement measurement tools to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the group and its team members
  • Manage major customer related and internal projects including deliverables, timelines, etc.
  • Ensure all procurement policies and procedures are followed
  • Leverage experience to assist with operational issues
  • Drive and improve our internal purchasing processes, procedures and systems
  • Establish strong relationships with vendors  
  • Use cost reduction strategies and research for sourcing new inventory
  • Create continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field
  • A background of 10 years in a procurement role managing and leading procurement professionals
  • Multi-location experience is required
  • Experience using e-Procurement systems (Purchasing, Contract Management, etc.)
  • Self-starter, ability to prioritize in a multi-tasking environment
  • Extremely responsive and customer focused
  • Commitment to superior quality and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal / teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively with internal clients, vendors, colleagues and support staff
  • Familiarity with reading and understanding contractual agreements
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are critical
