Duffield Associates, LLC is seeking a CAD Technician/Designer to join the Southern Delaware Division team in the Dover, Delaware office.

Duffield Associates, LLC is an award-winning engineering and science consulting firm specializing in civil, water resources, environmental, and geotechnical engineering, construction review and testing services. Established in 1976, Duffield has grown to include a professional and technical staff of over 100 individuals. The firm’s headquarters is located in a historic barn and farmhouse in Pike Creek Valley outside of Wilmington, Delaware. We have regional offices in Georgetown and Dover, Delaware, Center City Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Bel Air, Maryland.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist Project Managers and Engineers with technical drafting and design.
  • Perform technical engineering work:
  • Apply the knowledge, techniques, skills, and applicable tools of the discipline to engineering activities, including but not limited to site development, hydraulics and hydrology, grading, and structural and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct standardized field and laboratory testing.
  • Select appropriate materials and estimate material quantities for technical projects, prepare cost estimates.
  • Use graphic techniques and productivity software to produce engineering documents.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality, timeliness, professional development, and continuous improvement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Strong background with AutoCAD required – Familiarity with Civil 3D a plus.
  • Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software a plus.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS software a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated and willing to put the full effort towards the task at hand.
  • Candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance as a CAD technician/designer.
