This position may reside at our Corporate Office in Dallas, TX or at our satellite office in Buffalo, NY. Position Description

The Project Engineer (PE) will assist and support all aspects of project management, and field operations where necessary, for multiple projects. Support the project management process by performing engineering tasks such as processing shop drawings, handling the work flow of RFI's, document control, change management, outsourcing, estimating, scheduling and other related activities. PE will liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal business constituents to support the PM in the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and favorable financial outcome of assigned construction projects. 

Primary Responsibilities

PE will assist their assigned PM(s) with the following:

  • Prepare, review and distribute RFIs. Maintain RFI Logs on each project.
  • Submittals and shop drawings – review and approve, log and organize at the jobsite or in the main office location
  • Estimating / take-off and review subcontractor change order pricing notify subcontractors of construction document / plan changes and RFI’s – contact subs for all pricing.
  • RFP process and writing contracts / purchase orders.
  • Scheduling and schedule updates.
  • Construction Billings & Cash Flow Projects
  • Maintenance of job files and as-builts.
  • Development of and regular updates to the project schedule with input from project team.
  • Project meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Job cost analysis and updating of monthly project financials and billing schedules.
  • Manage project closeout and obtain all warranties required for final acceptance.
  • Other duties assigned.

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts.
  • Ensure company procedures and standards are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent required
  • 0-1 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Positive Attitude
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project
  • Familiarity / experience with cloud based construction management programs a plus
