Human Resources Generalist -- part-time

 

Milwaukee, WI

 

Milwaukee Repertory Theater ignites positive change in the cultural, social, and economic vitality of our community. Producing over 600 performances in four distinct venues every season requires a team of dedicated, passionate, and skilled people. 

 

Be part of our future in this newly created part-time (20-25 hours/week) Human Resources Generalist role. Our HR Generalist will be primarily responsible for these areas:

  • Develop internal communication strategy and process
  • Create and conduct new employee orientation
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues, serving as an impartial advisor for employees and management
  • Design and implement HR processes to create efficiencies
  • Source candidates, review resumes, and recommend candidates to management for administrative positions
  • Participate in compensation surveys, update wage scales, and develop new job descriptions
  • Develop and update HR policies
  • Act as an in-house expert on HR compliance issues
  • Assist with worker’s comp filings

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years’ HR generalist experience
  • Skilled in employee relations and employee communications
  • Stellar communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; skilled in using technology to create efficiencies
  • Non-profit and union experience a plus
  • HR certification a plus
