American Energy Care (AEC group of Companies) is a 25++ year old firm which provides a wide range of energy saving solutions to commercial and industrial businesses.  The solutions include auditing, energy-engineering, consulting, financing, and partial or turn-key installations and other services to reduce client energy costs.  We do business throughout New York, and parts of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Vermont. We are currently seeking several controls positions in lighting and mechanical controls, this posting is for an Energy Services Business Development (ESBD) to join our growing business in Albany, New York!

Job Description:

The ESBD will identify and work with the team to develop feasible engineering and financial solutions for the implementation of energy conservation measures (ECM’s), Clean Energy (CE), and Distributed Generation (DG) Solutions for Commercial and Industrial scale customers.

The ESBD will develop plans and strategies to expand the existing customer base within assigned markets and territories, to comply with the quarterly sales projections, and to foster cross selling of the AEC Group of Companies’ overall services.

The ESBD will help research and analyze the best medium term and long term gross profit and net margin optimization opportunities in the markets assigned.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify current and future customer needs by researching available technology and trends, and establishing personal relationships with the potential and actual customers, and other people in positions to understand and decide on energy services requirements and projects.
  • Provide product, service, or equipment technical and engineering support to customers as part of sales process.
  • Establish new accounts by identifying potential customers; participates in sales forecasting and planning, researching market trends and formulating yearly plans.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing plans.
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying design and/or conceptual drawings, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Determine improvements by analyzing technical and financial cost-benefits of equipment or solutions applications in a customer’s facility and explain SIR, ROI and MIRR.
  • Gain clients trust and acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  • Identify new client opportunities, develop and deliver sales presentations and closes sales.
  • Help develop clients staff knowledge and capabilities by providing technical information and training
  • Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues; recommending options and courses of action.
  • Contribute to own, as well as the team effort, by accomplishing related task or contributing to results such as the evaluation and attainment of new products and services for representation and distribution.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Timely reporting and adherence to individual and team KPI’s.


Qualifications:

 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good Presentation Skills, both delivery as well as preparation of audiovisual materials
  • Must be creative and flexible to plan and accomplish a variety of goals and be results-oriented
  • Proficient use of computer and knowledge of presentation, customer relationship management, spreadsheet analysis, and sales-engineer related computer programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or business preferred, candidates with a combination of education and directly related experience will also be considered.
  • Hunter sales mentality preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills and demonstrated experience for pricing control solutions for customers.

 



Preferred Education And Experience

  • Advanced training in financial sales and complex technical sales skills
  • Bachelor degree in engineering or (preferably) strong background in electrical or mechanical systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales positions with clear record of increased responsibilities, where excellent performance skills have been emphasized
