JOB SUMMARY
The Sensor Application Specialist is responsible for providing sensors leadership to all Contracting Sales Managers in the Northeast territory with regards to end users and consulting engineering calls in an assigned territory coordinate with the District Sales Managers on strategies to develop relationships, based on qualitative and quantitative objectives in the Contracting Business.
This position is fully integrated with Belimo’s overall Mission & Values. It is the employee’s responsibility to perform these duties in accordance with company policy.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Sensor Application Specialist is part of the Contract Sales Group reports to the Regional Sales Manager and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support sales efforts by cultivating strong relationships with end users and consulting engineering customers providing sensors training, information, recommendations and troubleshooting issues.
- Provide applications excellence to drive and support all Belimo Sensor products.
- Support sales strategy to maintain and grow our existing repeat business though service, relationship, product knowledge, and application knowledge.
- Utilize sensors applications expertise to assist sales force in the development of new business utilizing “pull through” sales efforts for the purpose of acquiring specifications and demand for our products.
- Identify potential new product applications and communicate concepts to Contracting Sales Force, Product Management and Engineering to develop new business.
- Keep informed of new consulting engineering and end user projects and provide leads to sales managers.
- Take a lead role in development of technical sensors Lunch & Learns and conduct training programs including Belimo University Programs as required.
- Work closely with the DSM’s and Field Sales Engineers to trouble shoot sensors issues at customer sites and help rectify the situation for the customers.
- Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to develop Master Belimo Specifications for new and existing products.
- Write and influence specifications for consulting engineers and end users.
- Effectively utilize sales tools including Best and Select Pro.
- Work on committees or special projects as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred.
- 5 years applicable experience in the Sensors field.
- 5 Years of proven track record in consulting engineering, HVAC or technical field.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational, inter-personal, and negotiation skills are required
- Strong communications and presentation skills are a must.
- Self-starting personality is required to efficiently structure work schedule and work successfully from your home office.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and other basic computer skills.
- Travel requirements of position is approximately 50%
