Job Summary:

The role of a Working Families Navigator is to inspire belief in individuals that they will succeed. They will assist participants to remove barriers to their success so they can attain and maintain employment and reach the goals they set. This is a full-time staff position in which 75% of this individual’s time is to assess benefits eligibility, assist in benefits application navigation, and assist with the intake process for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. This would include bundling services provided by community partners and quarterly assessments towards progress on a stability tool or matrix. The other 25% of this staff position’s time would be to coordinate efforts of the Center for Working Families Team to help transition from design phase to a fully functional center. This would include coordination of team meetings, invites to the community to attend meetings, ongoing public-input meetings, and coordination back out to the community about progress, etc. This position would also help with researching and obtaining potential funding opportunities as needed for programming and operational expenses.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Business Administration, or other related field.
• 3-5 years of related work experience
Preferred
• Master’s degree in Human Services, Business Administration, Social Work or related field.
• 5-7 years of related work experience

 

Hours and Wage:

This position is required to work non-traditional hours similar to the Ladd Library; typically 9:00am-6:00pm with some weekend hours being required.

$18.06/hour
