We are seeking a Supply Chain Assistant (SCA) for our Alexandria, VA office. Our SCA’s are responsible for maintaining and executing supplier activities which will include negotiating best possible pricing for margin enhancements, submitting purchase orders, follow through from the creation of a purchase order through closure.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiates best price, terms and conditions to enhance profit margins for the organization.
  • Obtain bids for all SKU’s per orders and report back changes, updates, to appropriate personnel.
  • On-going communications with suppliers, business line managers, and field technicians on open purchase orders and projects.
  • Performs diligent follow up with suppliers to get accurate lead times, pricing and status on existing orders.
  • Ability to gather & analyze data for Department’s KPI and SCC (Supplier Scorecard) ensuring that suppliers are meeting company requirements.
  • Assist Accounting, receiving, field technicians with any discrepancies in a timely manner and work with departments for month end close.
  • Reviews cancelled orders and relays information back to suppliers, associates and business line managers where applicable.
  • Follows purchase order through entire procurement process.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication skills will help you negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.

 

  • Work well under pressure to meet deadlines, while managing priorities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a high level of integrity and dependability
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position

 

 

SALARY:         $32,500 - $37,500 Annually
