Position Overview

The Michael and Son Restoration Department is looking to grow its staff with a full time accounting person for Collections. This candidate would need to be able to operate in a fast paced environment with the ability to maintain focus, be task oriented, a self-starter and handle multi-tasking. Must have very strong organizational and communication skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Meet defined department goals achieving results that are important to the department
  • Represent the Company with integrity and respect of customers in dealing with sensitive financial matters and payments with exceptional client relationship skills
  • Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due to Company
  • High volume phone calls to assigned delinquent customers for all areas: DMV, BALT, RICH,CHV and NOR
  • Process weekly receivables reporting and departmental paperwork
  • Negotiate and handle customer and business entity disputes on behalf of the Company

 

Skills, Abilities and Expertise:

  • Understanding of trade industry. Not specific to Restoration, but of service types
  • Receivables and collection experience with understanding of legal areas impacting collections
  • Accounting background a plus including experience in AR/AP
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Professional and pleasantly persistent as well as determined; This person will be involved in adjuster disputes, customer disputes and customers turned over for legal review; this person cannot be afraid to follow-up multiple times if necessary with customers or entities
  • Able to negotiate
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great written communication skills and precise in documenting events and incidents
  • Adaptable to quick changes
  • Accountable and responsible for actions
  • A level of high integrity
  • Experience with insurance companies a plus
