Job Summary
The Shot Blast Specialist primary responsibility is to process shot blast from unload through shipment to customer.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Loads/Unloads long bar material from flatbed trailers or Sea Containers with a 30k fork truck
- Crane operation
- Mechanical aptitude
- Bundling and de-bundling long bar stock
- Operate Shot Blast machine
- Grinding and hand tool aptitude
- Understands and utilizes hand signals from spotters to safely load and unload long bar
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals and safety improvements
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/ skill
- Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Material handling experience in an industrial environment
- Sit down and/or stand up forklift certification required.
- Previous experience operating a 30k fork truck
- Crane operating experience with the past 2 years required.
- Prior experience with handling heavy steel loads preferred
