ABOUT YOU:
You're ready to take on responsibility for working with a multi-disciplinary team in our therapeutic child care setting. You're passionate about serving vulnerable populations and see early intervention as a way of collaborating with families to create social change.
As Pediatric Occupational Therapist you'll provide sensory processing and play-based therapy to children in natural environments, including their homes, classrooms, and other community locations. You will draw upon your educational and practical experience with the following background:
- A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, licensed by Washington State
- A verifiable safe driving record; a valid driver’s license; the state required minimum auto insurance; ability to use your own vehicle for the job
- You have a cleared Portable Background check through Department of Early Learning.
- You are able to pass Childhaven's background check and drug screen.
- You have a TB test by the Mantoux method.
- Your certifications are current in Pediatric/Adult CPR, first aid and AED, HIV and blood borne pathogens.
- Bilingual English-Spanish speakers are highly encouraged to apply!
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will have the opportunity to create a positive impact every day with the following responsibilities.
- Evaluate, assess, and provide motor therapy to children from birth through three years.
- Collaborate with the Early Intervention team, Family Resources Coordinators (FRCs), and Childhaven program staff on interdisciplinary IFSPs, goal-setting, and case review.
- Maintain documentation of case records and ensure compliance with Part C and other policies.
- Communicate with insurance providers, school districts, and other outside resources as needed.
- Engage and empower parents in all individual and group sessions, providing training and support that allow them to meet the needs of their children.
