Status: Fulltime Summer / Paid internship

Position Description: The role is to provide support in the areas of Field Engineering, Project Management, Finance/Accounting, Operations, or Quality and Safety, as assigned. This is a temporary, full time paid internship designed to provide on-the-job experience for those interested in a learning experience. Interns will be assigned specific responsibilities within the company based on their background and interest. This program is a valuable opportunity for interns to understand the integration of academic learning with the day-to-day processes of business and operational functions. The program will also familiarize interns with the specific skills needed to be successful in a construction company. Required to deliver a “report-out” presentation at the end of internship.

 

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college, or undergraduate college student who has completed junior year at a 4-year university, or two years of directly related experience within applicable field
    • Majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Quality and Safety, or related field of study.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational and project management skills
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively represent the company in an ethical and professional manner and consistent with our values and mission
  • Valid State Driver’s license

 

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with functional business groups to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives to drive success
  • Assists with projects and ensure that the functionality is developed in a way that complies with business requirements and established methodologies and practices
  • Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions as directed.
  • Safely manage all operations in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Support customer satisfaction strategies executed to assure the long-term viability of the operation.
  • Represent the company both internally and externally in a professional manner consistent with our values and mission.
  • Actively participate in programs, policies and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company and corporation.

  • Occasional overtime and weekend hours, if needed for project support.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, or other APi Group company locations as needed.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Safety Glasses / Goggles, Steel-toed Boots, Reflective Vest and Hearing Protection in designated areas.
