Night Production Manager

The Assistant Production Manager on the Evening Shift will report directly to the Production Manager. Qualified candidates will possess 7 to 10 years of relevant manufacturing and production experience within the steel fabrication and construction industry.  The Assistant Production Manager will be an effective leader and team manager with exceptional problem solving skills.  Qualified Candidates should be self-starting, organized, possess technical aptitude, great leadership skills, ability to learn quickly and be a team player.

Hours:

Evening Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:30 pm-3:00 am

Duties Summary/Responsibilities:

 

  • Report to Production Manager
  • Overall responsibility for production of night shift operation
  • Work in conjunction with Production Manager to plan, coordinate and monitor, on a daily basis, fabrication shop work activities, fabrication progress and resources necessary to efficiently meet the production schedule
  • Work to achieve goals and objectives set out by Production Manager
  • Maintain the quality of work produced by fabrication shop
  • Coordinate activities with Health and Safety Manager
  • Responsible for ensuring that safety rules and regulations are respected.
  • Interact/meet with your group on a regular basis, and as required, to provide guidance, updates, changes in schedule or methods, etc.
  • Assist in recommending staffing levels
  • Investigates all safety incidents which occurred in your section and complete appropriate reports.
  • Enforce disciplinary actions when appropriate.
  • Responsible for time keeping of group
  • Direct flow of materials; log locations and completions.
  • Report and coordinate equipment repairs and inspections
  • Any other related duties, as required and/or special projects as needed.

 

Education/Training and Work Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma/Associates Degree (Bachelor Degree preferred in Engineering or similar technical field)
  • 7 to 10 years of structural steel or closely related production experience
  • 5 + years of Supervisory Experience in Steel Manufacturing
  • Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must have the ability to speak English fluently.

  • Responsibility for the safe operation, regulatory compliance, throughput, quality, continuous improvement, production, and cost management of plant
  • Responsibility for meeting schedules
