Job Summary:

Journeyman carpenter capable for installing metal studs and hanging drywall under the supervision of the Foreman assigned on the project. 

Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Fit and fasten wallboard or drywall into position on wood or metal frameworks, using glue, nails, or screws.
  • Measure and cut openings in drywall for electrical outlets, windows, vents, and plumbing and other fixtures, using keyhole saws or other cutting tools.
  • Hang drywall panels on metal frameworks of walls and ceilings using lifts or hoists to adjust panel heights when necessary.
  • Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints, using knives.
  • Install blanket insulation between studs and tack plastic moisture barriers over insulation when required
  • Install metal lath where plaster applications will be exposed to weather or water, or for curved or irregular surfaces.
  • Able to understand direction and required productions for the task asked to perform

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • 1 year of hands on field experience
  • Union Membership (in good standing)
  • Able to lift 65 lbs.
  • OSHA 10 Certified
  • OSHA 30 certified (preferred) 
  • Successfully completing drug and alcohol testing
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Able to work overhead for long periods of time
  • Reliable transportation
