This position is responsible for Installing metal frame, wood and sheathing, using carpenter's hand and power tools.

Essential Duties and Requirements:

  • Cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  • Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level.
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders safely if needed
  • May be required to work inside or outside
  • Able to understand direction and required productions for the task you are performing

Experience and Education:

  • 1 year of hands on field experience.
  • Union Membership (in good standing)
  • Able to lift 100 lbs.
  • OSHA 30 Certified (preferred)
  • Lift Certification (preferred)
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able to work overhead for long periods of time.
  • Reliable transportation.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of commercial buildings, manufacturing buildings and houses.
  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
