Duffield is looking for a qualified Water/Wastewater Engineer candidate for our Dover, DE office starting June 2018. Duffield’s Dover Office provides water and wastewater engineering services to municipal and industrial clients.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist Project Managers with technical, engineering design for water and wastewater facilities requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional responsibilities.
  • Perform technical engineering work associated with water and wastewater engineering including:
    • prepare engineering reports and feasibility studies
    • prepare engineering related calculations and visual aids
    • develop hydraulic models and perform engineering analysis
    • participate in field investigations
    • prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections
    • complete various permitting applications
    • attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, and contractors.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in Civil or Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water/wastewater or other related field require
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
  • 0-5 years of experience in civil engineering, particularly water and wastewater services.
  • Capable of using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, particularly Civil 3D, a plus.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS software a plus.
  • Familiarity with computer models for hydraulic system analysis.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated and willing to put forth the full effort towards the task at hand.
  • Candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance as an engineer on path toward licensure and participate in professional organizations.
