We are currently seeking candidates for a Health & Safety Administrator at our Corporate Headquarters in Baton Rouge. This position will be a part of our Health & Safety Department and will report in to the Director of Risk Management.
Summary of the Health & Safety Administrator role:
The Health & Safety Administrator will provide clerical support to the Health & Safety Department (which includes risk management and safety training). This position plays a vital role in ensuring that the Health & Safety Department runs effectively and efficiently by providing essential support service.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Support the Director of Risk Management in implementing the health and safety management programs and procedures to ensure the health and safety of internal and external customers.
- Provide professional, responsive, and customer-focused health and safety operations services to colleagues across the organization, external suppliers, and customers.
- Assist the Director of Risk Management on the administration of the health and safety management system.
- Prepare monthly health and safety performance and activity reports.
- Support the Director of Risk Management with arrangements specifically in relation to site needs for compliance.
- Complete administrative duties for health and safety meetings and forums to include preparation of the agenda, provision of applicable data, and recording meeting minutes.
- Organize and maintain training records. Create and distribute certificates as required.
- Monitor health and safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with established standards. Will occasionally visit job sites.

Qualifications/Skills

- Previous experience in an office/administrative support role (1-2 years).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications (advanced Excel and Word) and online IT products/services. Knowledge of Adobe helpful.
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety terminology.
- Basic knowledge of construction industry preferred.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience working within a multi-site/departments operation.
- Experience producing written reports and data tracking.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Solutions orientated, strong attention to detail.
- Proven time management skills.
- Must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects (e.g. packing/moving boxes of safety materials).

Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions:
This position is primarily office based and most work is done in an office environment. Occasionally this position may require site visits to active construction sites to make measurements and review the physical conditions on a project site. On a construction site, the employee may be required to climb ladders and walk in areas under construction. While on construction sites, the employee must wear proper protective equipment such as hard hat, eye and hearing protection, high visibility vest, etc. The employee must be familiar with all company safety equipment and is required to follow company safety procedures, prior to entering the construction site
