Safety Coordinator

Successful candidate should like working with others and being part of a team.  This position would be responsible for providing direction and coordination of the operating company health and safety program and policies in collaboration with the Safety Director.  This position should bring a high level of energy and sense of urgency.  Must have a good work ethic and be able to travel often.  Should have excellent communication skills.    Drug Free, Equal Opportunity

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Safety & Loss Prevention

    • Contribute to the direction of company’s overall Health and Safety Program.  This includes implementing Health and Safety programs and/or company specific programs unique to the business.

      Communicate with and involves executive management with respect to safety goals, objectives and key performance indicators.

    • Regular communication with and safety support for Safety Director 

    • Assist Safety Director with programs and/or technology that will further enhance the company’s safety performance.

    • Regularly engage with field team members to assist and monitor loss prevention efforts.  Provide regular and effective coaching.

    • Develop field leadership through coaching, feedback, and continued training activities to assist in building the skills necessary to execute loss prevention activities.

    • Be a champion of our company wide “Stop Work Responsibility”. 

    • Maintain regulatory compliance with all state and federal regulations.

    • Create and deliver training opportunities to all levels of the team.

    • Perform frequent job site evaluations, determine employee exposure(s) and institute acceptable work practices.

    • Assist with maintaining and enforcing company’s substance abuse and fleet program and polices.    Including but not limited to drug testing, motor vehicle record checks and background checks. 

    • Assist with the maintenance of 3rd party pre-qualification sites such as IsNetworld.

    • Assist in management of OSHA 300 and 300A forms and reporting

    • Assist in overall management of DOT compliance.

    • Participate in client, project and incident review meetings.

    • Act as the Administrator to NCCER; Veriforce; ANR; Arkiv; Prov; PTC; OSHA; PEC; FMCSA/DOT; and PHMSA, NAICS

  • Loss Control

    • Investigate losses when appropriate for injuries, property damage and auto accidents.  Assist in root cause analysis and lesson’s learned communications.
    • Assist in all return to work efforts.
    • Monitor and measure loss performance from company level as well as project level.
    • Continuously search for trends in incidents reported and opportunities for prevention.
    • Communicate and work with APi Group, Inc. claims analysts. 

 

Job Qualifications 

  • Safety or risk control related experience.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional planning, time-management and follow-through.
  • Strong relationship building skills, both internal and external.
  • Ability to travel >50% overnight.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of technology – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook in particular.
  • Ability to review, analyze and discuss safety/risk information and/or data.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and complex situations
