Job Summary:

Performs activities related to confidential and accurate timekeeping in computerized system, including preparation, review and reconciliation of various reports related to employee, job/ project time and payroll. Responsible for construction related paperwork, including, but not limited to purchase orders, vendor invoices and ordering supplies. Assists with regulatory compliance with applicable federal and multi-state laws, compliance with multiple union agreements, reporting, entry and filing. Successful candidate must be proficient with procedure and general office duties, ability to prioritize work and be detail orientated. This position primary role will be to support the Industrial & Mining projects from a stationary office location, or job trailer, and have the ability to travel as needed to support the department needs. Travel vicinity includes Northern MN regional/Iron Range area, the North Shore of Minnesota, and as needed in other project locations.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Minimum one year working in a complex business office providing support services, preferably finance or operational focused.
  • Ability to multitask, work within deadlines and with differing key stake holders.
  • Prior payroll or timekeeping experience preferred.      
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel including the ability to create, manipulate and maintain spreadsheets

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide daily support to the Department Manager and teams that are in the field.
  • Obtain timesheets to Field Contact for signature on a daily basis by owner
  • Accurately transfer of time daily into a computerized system.  (Jamar and Customer systems)
  • Maintain phase codes, descriptions, work orders, cost codes and weekly equipment list.
  • Analyze, make decisions and effective plan for daily project functions
  • Maintain and track purchase order log
  • Obtain proper safety equipment for industrial sites
  • Responsible to seek out information in a diplomatic and effective manner.

Other Functions: 

  • Must have clearance to go on industrial sites
  • Ability to travel to job sites
  • Clean driving record

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Requires climbing, lifting, reaching and grasping.
  • The environmental conditions for this position include climate controlled indoor activity to inclement outdoor extremes of cold, heat, dust, wind and various forms of precipitation. Exposure to a variety of noise and equipment vibration.
  • Position is often in a heavy manufacturing/industrial area and will require up to work from a job trailer.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant environment. PPE required when in the plant, yard or construction areas include:
    • Hard Hat
    • Safety Glasses / Goggles
    • Steel-toed Boots
    • Reflective Vest
    • Hearing Protection (designated areas)
