About the Job
Hardsuit Labs is currently looking for a Character Technical Artist to join our team! With a unique combination of Maya expertise, and a keen eye for human anatomy, you will work with the Lead Technical Artist to help the animation team to bring our characters to life.
You should:
Have a well-developed understanding of human movement, and the strong problem-solving skills needed to re-create that movement in game engines. You’ll employ your knowledge of human anatomy, human locomotion, and your technical know-how to build build rigs, tools, and support our animators and the animation pipeline. Ensuring that the animation team is empowered to create amazing animations will be your number one priority. Teamwork is key here and you must love working in a team fostered environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Rigging experience, and being well-versed in the process of animation creation and animation techniques is a must.
- In depth knowledge of Autodesk Maya.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and human locomotion.
- Basic understanding of the UE4 animation pipeline.
- Passion for making and playing great games, with an awareness of current titles and industry trends.
- Able to think creatively to resolve rigging challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using autorigging systems such as Advanced Skeleton or Epic's A.R.T.
- Facial rigging experience.
- Knowledge of Maya MEL or Python (Python preferred).
- Strong understanding of UE4 animation systems and tools.
- Strong knowledge of modern game animation pipelines and workflows.
- Strong foundation in art or animation.
