We are currently seeking a Domestic Material & Technical Service Manager to join our growing team!
Position Overview:
Support NRC’s 24/7/365 operations on emergency response, land service and maritime contracts or projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of Waste Management Services encompassed in land services, industrial services, contract (waste) management, phased operations to field work after emergency response operations. Purchasing supplies and materials according to specifications.
- Collaborate with managers to determine supply needs
- Locates and develops sound relationships with potential clients and vendors; provide a high-level of service as well as negotiate disposal pricing.
- Manage all potential risks and liabilities of a project through complete understanding of the contract documents in order to maintain and protect NRC best interest
- Manage and develop cost estimates and productivity schedules in conjunction with the proposal development group to maintain that well-scoped, competitively bid and well-written proposals be delivered to a potential client.
- Manage and track all related project costs utilizing company generated forms and computer software to update regional management of the current financial status of the project at any given time.
- Maintain accurate records of all jobs and events to achieve full reimbursement of funds from clients.
- Provide technical support to account representatives through job walks, estimates, presentations and sales calls to increase NRC annual sales.
- Help the overall NRC Emergency Response teams and assist other NRCES employees along the Domestic US as needed.
- Initiate ideas, changes and policies which benefit the company as a whole
- Ensure total customer satisfaction on all jobs
- Build relationships with key members of various regulatory agencies and participate in meetings and symposiums whenever possible.
- Be flexible; this position requires that the individual can/will perform all duties that may be required of subordinates including labor activities, driving, wearing protective equipment; being on-call, etc.
- Through negotiations provide pricing and disposal rates for Service Managers as well as clients.
- Manages multiple projects as designated by General Manager or Operations Manager.
- Must work closely with all divisional operations and business development manager to ensure all priorities are met and exceeded. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Typically, 4 years of college or advanced vocational training with equivalent environmental services work experience.
- Proven experience as Material Manager for at least 5 years.
- Experience should include managing, developing professional proposals for Domestic US for best pricing for sites.
- 10 years’ experience in DOT and regulatory management for disposal of Hazard Waste.
- Knowledge of disposal regulations and TSDF’s including profiling and shipping (manifesting) paperwork.
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of management and subordinates in order to effectively accomplish general goals of the Operations program.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required including negotiation, persuasive, leadership and supervision skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team member.
