Mennonite Services Northwest (MSNW), located on the Mennonite Village campus in the beautiful Willamette Valley, is a faith based, nonprofit management company with expertise in providing life-enriching health and housing services to the aging and to individual’s experiencing developmental disabilities. The organization is currently seeking a Director of Operations and Business Development. This position provides oversight of daily operations of managed entities and supervises the Executive Directors and Administrators of MSNW & MMS. The ideal candidate will have experience working in long-term care, preferably in management, and an understanding of property management, including compliance requirements for HUD, Low Income Housing Tax Credit and Limited Partnership Agreements.

Qualified candidates must have BA in related field and hold a license in property management, LIHTC certification and real estate license, or willingness to obtain these. Candidate will need to travel routinely to managed organizations and occasionally to potential new organizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • In concert with the CEO, relates to the appropriate boards and provides assistance with governance and strategic mission-driven planning and development.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate organizational relationships with MSNW and MMS affiliated and managed organizations.
  • Assists and supports MSNW and MMS related organizational managers in fulfilling their duties.
  • Stays current on relevant compliance requirements as needed related to HUD, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Limited Partnership Agreements, etc.
  • Maintains managed properties in survey/inspection ready condition via self-testing of compliance requirements. Provide relevant training as necessary to correct for non-compliance.
  • Travels to managed organizations routinely (currently Portland, Canby and Corvallis) and occasionally to potential new organizations.
  • In concert with the CEO pursues organizational management opportunities.
  • Fulfills special projects related to MSNW / MMS.
  • Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies.
  • Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor.
  • Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supportive of the MSNW philosophy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Property Management license holder, LIHTC certification and real estate license, or willingness to obtain these.
  • Experience in long-term care organizations, preferably management with health care systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to act independently under general guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft office products.
