Job Summary:

Performs activities related to supporting engineers and the project managers in the creation and revision of CAD models and/or detailed drawings. This role will utilize Revit, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk CAD to produce designs for construction projects.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of professional experience in mechanical design or equivalent scope of work, including proficiency with Revit. 
  • Experience in HVAC and Mechanical Construction field preferred 
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret mechanical plans, plus be familiar with architectural, structural, electrical plans / specifications and local code.
  • Thorough understanding of BIM, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, Blue Beam and Revit.
  • Ability to work fulltime in the Duluth, MN office (not a remote/offsite position).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate multiple projects, in various stages of design, to successful completion.
  • Conceptualize, design and communicate successfully in CAD and Revit, using current industry standards.
  • Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
  • Coordinate electronic layout efforts with field team.
  • Communicate frequently with project team members including architects, engineers, and project managers.
  • Perform a wide range of drafting tasks. Responsible for maintaining accurate design and drawing archives and revision history.
  • Develop and coordinate pre-fabrication and spool drawings for in house assembly.
  • Prepare plans, layouts, assembly drawings, detail drawings and sketches as directed by engineers.
  • Revise existing drawings for owners reference upon project completion.
  • Be responsible for the knowledge of building codes, development of details and the organization of construction documents.
  • Be able to communicate effectively while working in a team environment.
