Job Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to represent ASDCO and its offerings in the construction market, focused territory in the Twin Cities Metro and the surrounding areas. Responsible for building on existing relationships and identifying potential customers while increasing sales and profitability. We are growing our business and need talented staff to grow with us. Attention to detail and keeping up-to-date product knowledge are required. Business Development staff must routinely budget time and resources effectively, exercise independent judgment and discretion in the execution of job responsibilities.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Increase business by generating sales to new customers and by selling additional products to existing customers.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to our clients including in-service. 
  • Gather and report to management information regarding the company, competitors, pricing, products and current and future market trends.
  • Assist management and vendors in planning, tracking and implementing sales strategies and developing new markets.
  • Communicate customer orders with City Desk and warehouse.
  • Relay new product information to customers and provide demos as necessary.
  • Track, bid, and follow through on competitive quotations to customers.
  • Participate in trade shows and business development opportunities to network with existing and prospective customers as well as vendors and company partners.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks effectively and delegate as necessary.
  • Will travel throughout territory as necessary to achieve results.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of verifiable sales and service, or territory management experience. Experience in contracting/construction industry preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field of study preferred. 
  • Proficient in MS Suite programs, and other sales software programs.
  • Customer/client focus with problem solving ability and negotiation skills.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an aptitude for dealing with various personalities.
  • Valid state driver’s license with clear driving record.
