Position Goal:

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse facility, including the pick-up and/or delivery of the Reservoir product. This position will oversee and coordinate activities of others engaged in the receiving and distribution of warehouse products.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Maintain proper storage of warehouse product in compliance with America's Second Harvest guidelines.
  2. Identify tools, information, and resources for the team to get their jobs done safely, on time, and with quality results.
  3. Respond to team members' questions, project clairification, and problem resolution requests.
  4. Demonstrate leadership in area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules, and practices, as well as encouraging safe work behavior and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors that may lead to accidents.
  5. Rotate stock within the warehouse according to a FIFO (First in-First out) system.
  6. Organize daily activities of the warehouse team.
  7. Maintain order and cleanliness in the warehouse.
  8. Work with the MIS specialist to receive and label all Reservoir products.
  9. Pick agency orders for distribution.
  10. Maintain required logs and records associated with warehouse operations.
  11. Transport product using a straight truck or van.
  12. Maintain Food Reservoir vehicles in good working order, and notify supervisor when appropriate maintenance on vehicles as needed. Operate a forklift and electric pallet jack.
  13. This position will supervise volunteers or enrollees.

Qualifications:

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:

  1. 1 year related experience, preferably in driving/delivery or warehousing (food warehousing preferred).
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and customer orders.
  3. Work experience that demonstrates the ability to follow and communicate instructions as well as the ability to solve practical problems with flexibility.
  4. Work experience that demonstrates excellent customer service skills and paperwork organization/management.
  5. Experience operating a forklift and electric pallet jack.
  6. Forklift Certification is required.
  7. Valid Commercial Driver's License and clean driving record required. 

 

Physical Demands:

 

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 100 pouds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

 

Work Environment:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Hours and Wage:

Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:30pm; $18.15/hour
