POSITION GOAL

 

The Food Reservoir Part-Time Warehouse Tech 1 is responsible for assisting the Operations/Warehouse Manager with all phases of the day-to-day operation of the warehouse facility, including the pick-up and/or delivery of Food Reservoir products, and food boxes using the Reservoir vehicle, accepting deliveries, assisting partner agencies with orders, cleaning and other needed warehouse duties as assigned. This position provides back up for warehouse employee when on vacation/days off and is scheduled during anticipated high-volume days in the warehouse.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Assist the Operations/Warehouse Manager in the proper storage and distribution of warehouse product in compliance with American Institute for Baking (AIB) and Food Reservoir guidelines.
  2. Maintain order and cleanliness in the warehouse.
  3. Pick agency orders for distribution, and assist agencies with their orders for pick up/retail.
  4. Accept food deliveries.
  5. Assist with the transportation product using the agency vehicle as assigned.
  6. Operate a forklift and electric pallet jack as needed.
  7. Responsible for maintaining a positive work attitude with team members, partner agencies, food donors, and management staff.
  8. Accurately track inventory paperwork.
  9. Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

 

  1. 1 year related experience, preferably in food warehousing and/or delivery.
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and customer orders.
  3. Work experience that demonstrates the ability to follow and communicate instructions.
  4. Work experience that demonstrates the ability to solve practical problems with flexibility.
  5. Experience operating a forklift and electric pallet jack preferred.

     

Skills and/or Abilities

 

  1. Ability to read and write and keep records utilizing basic mathematical skills.
  2. Valid driver’s license.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

 

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Must be able to climb in and out of the delivery truck multiple times daily. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and heat as well as moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

 

Hours and Wage:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 9:00am-4:00pm; $13.37/hour
