Job Title: Supervisor
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintain open communication between Asplundh (ATE) and Utility Customer’s Vegetation Management Program.
- Oversee and manage budgets and mileage goals established by the utility
- Provide bid estimates in response to utility request for quotations
- Provide conflict resolution when necessary
- Coordinate manpower fluctuations
- Educate customers, community groups and jurisdictions concerning potential vegetation/electric conflict hazards
- Mentor and develop general foreperson and regional safety supervisor
- Maintain continuous dialog with Asplundh Management pertaining to all aspects of the Utility Customer’s Vegetation Management Program (Multiple Utilities)
- Work with Region Manager, Regional Safety Supervisor (RSS) and General Foreperson to establish annual work plans to ensure all goals set by Region are achieved.
- Meet with team members on a regular basis to review budget and mileage goals and expectations.
- Insure that the maintenance programs meet all federal regulatory and/or utility standards on a regular basis.
- Assist in maintaining a professional support staff.
- Primary contact for after-hour tree crew requests and/or storm related activity.
- Ensure proper billing
- Oversee the Quality Assurance Programs.
- Attendance requirements are a minimum 40-hour work week
- Performs other duties as required.
Other Functions:
- Works with customers and Asplundh management team to identify and implement continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities.
- Provide leadership and mentoring
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or or 5 years forestry or utility management experience.
- Good working knowledge of ANSI A300 and Z133.
- Experience in Vegetation Management background pertaining to:
- Bidding and Estimating
- Annual budget accounting
- Excellent working relationship pertaining to tree crew manpower and equipment capabilities
- General Foreperson background
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong PC skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and the requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to wear necessary PPE as necessary.
- Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
- Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
- Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
- Must be able to traverse various terrains.
- Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
- Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.
- Must have transportation to and from the show up location.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
