ADF International has an immediate opening for an NDT Level II Inspector for the day shift (Mon - Thurs 6:00am - 4:30pm)

VISUAL AND NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT) INSPECTOR

NDT Inspectors will inspect welded joint and check/evaluate the welds in accordance with specific job and shop requirements. NDT Technician must have experience with AWS D1.1 standards and be certified ASNT Level II UT w/Shear Wave Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing experience. 

Duties Summary/Responsibilities:

• Inspection of welded joint preparation (as needed)
• Checking and evaluating welds in accordance with a specific procedure
• Act as the welder’s reference person
• Perform NDT
• Writing inspection reports
• Updating visual and NDT inspection progress in the system
• Perform calibration and calibration of instruments used by the Inspection Department
• Ensuring that non-conformities are processed
• Interpretation of specifications and standards applicable to contracts
• Comply with safety rules
• Follow Corporate quality procedures, work instructions or fabrication standards
• Any other related tasks

Education/Training and Work Experience:

• Welding metallurgy
• ASNT Level II-UT with Shear Wave Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing experience
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 standards
• Experience reading and interpreting structural blueprints
• CWI Certification in AWS D1.1 preferred but not required
• Dimensional Inspection experience in accordance with AWS D1.1 preferred ( If no experience, must be willing to learn)

Key Technical Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge in welding, metallurgy, and steel fabrication
• Structural blueprint reading
• Experience in structural steel fabrication
• Reading and interpreting codes, drawings and specifications related to the contract
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 codes of standards
• Ability to meet physical requirements of welding inspectors
• Ability to pass AWS visual acuity test
• Ability to use standard measuring tools, tape measure, squares, welding gauges
• Ability to interpret measurements in US Standard and Metric
• Certified in ASNT level II UT with Shear Wave Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing experience

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform the following and sustain for varying lengths of time: stand: walk, drag, pull, push, lift, lower, climb stairs or ladders, balance, bend, twist, squat, kneel and stoop on a constant basis, and work from a ladder or stair case. Must be able to lift 10 lbs. often, 25 lbs. frequently and occasionally lift 50 lbs. Must be able to articulate hands and wrists to manipulate inspection equipment.  Ability to perform work in variable climate conditions such as but not limited to, hot, cold, dusty, noisy etc.
