PRODUCTION MANAGER

 

The Production Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager. Qualified candidates will possess 7 to 10 years of relevant manufacturing and production experience within the structural steel fabrication and construction industry.  The Production Manager will be an effective leader and team manager with exceptional problem solving skills.  Qualified Candidates should be self-starting, organized, possess technical aptitude, great leadership skills, ability to learn quickly and be a team player.

 

Duties Summary/Responsibilities:

 

  • Direct and monitor, on a daily basis, fabrication shop work activities, fabrication progress and resources necessary to efficiently meet the production schedule and performance metrics
  • Review schedules in order to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints
  • Review operations and confer with staff to resolve production problems
  • Balance quality, productivity, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas of production
  • Responsibility for the safe operation, regulatory compliance, throughput, quality, continuous improvement, production, and cost management of plant
  • Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity
  • Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety
  • Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work
  • Actively managing performance of personnel and processes in a manufacturing setting
  • Continually review with foreman their job tasks and work together to provide motivation, guidance and support
  • Responsible for time keeping of group
  • Oversee a workforce of 150+ employees
  • Any other related duties, as required and/or special projects as needed

Education/Training and Work Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma/Associates Degree
  • Bachelor Degree preferred in Engineering or similar technical field
  • 7 to 10 years of structural steel or closely related production experience
  • 5 + years of Supervisory Experience in Heavy Structural Steel Manufacturing
  • Knowledge and understanding of AWS, CWB, AISC Codes and Standards
  • Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
