Tekla Modeler/Detailer

ADF International is looking for a Tekla Modeler/Detailer that will be responsible for data extraction and model queries, aid in shop blueprint troubleshooting, and help define fabrication methodology and assembly sequencing. The Tekla Modeler/Detailer should be flexible in what modeling software they can use, experience can include SDS/2 or autoCad2010, but Tekla Structures is strongly preferred.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Communicate fabrication detailing, CAD and BIM information to our fabrication team
  • Generate reports for all 3D models and distribute them as necessary
  • Draw layout from client models for fabrication operations
  • Validate/Extract all CNC files from 3D models
  • Consult and annotate on shop and erection drawings for production purposes

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in AutoCad Drafting or other relevant education
  • Technical knowledge of blueprint reading, detailing and 3D steel modeling
  • Knowledge of Tekla Structures strongly preferred, AutoCad 2010 and SDS/2 are acceptable
  • Knowledge in AWS D1.1 welding, metallurgy and steel fabrication
  • Knowledge of codes of standards for AISC, AWS, and CWB

 

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to perform the following activities for varying lengths of time: stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, kneel and stoop on a constant basis; must be able to climb ladders or stairs to work from elevated locations periodically. Often lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds; use hands, arms and upper body on a frequent basis.  Ability to perform work in variable climate conditions such as but not limited to, hot, cold, dusty, noisy etc.  May also be required to wear appropriate respiratory protection should the need arise.
