Human Resource Generalist
The human resource generalist is responsible for assisting in the daily functions of the human resource department. The Qualified candidate must maintain confidentiality while providing excellent customer service. They also must have excellent organizational skills and assist employees and management.
Key Technical Skills/Abilities include:
- Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
- Experience with personnel records, job evaluation, benefits administration, organizational development and training
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
- Ability to be an effective team member and handle tasks responsibly
- Requires excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking
- Must be a self-starter
- Minimum of associates degree or equivalent experience in HR or related field
- PHR or SHRM-CP is required
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an HR generalist
Duties Summary:
- Assist HR/Director in performing various human resource and administrative functions and procedures for all company employees.
- Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent information regarding employment and employees.
- Participates in benefit administration.
- Assists in organizational training and development efforts to include new hire orientation/on boarding, evaluation training, training documentation process, and evaluation process.
- Maintains human resource employee personnel, medical and training files.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the HR Director such as writing job descriptions and organizing employee events.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to regularly sit, walk and stand for varying lengths of time. Must be able to repetitively articulate hands, wrists etc. to operate standard office equipment; and perform those similar activities while seated as well as perform computer work for various lengths of time. Will need to be able to reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
