Senior Lead Interior Designer

The Senior Lead Interior Designer position’s primary role is to work on a variety of projects including office tenant improvements, restaurant, schools, clubs, residential, specialty retail, industrial, and self-storage. You have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture or design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will be responsible to grow and maintain our design team and clientele.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop and grow our T.I. Studio

* Must have strong existing portfolio

* Must have the ability to expand new clientele and markets

* Strong leadership skills needed to inspire and maintain Magellan Culture

* Entrepreneurship mentality preferred

* Manage interior design process for new development projects, existing communities and sales offices; from concept development through construction management, furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E) installation and occupancy

* Manage Design Staff and Work Flow

* Coordinate concept and strategy with Sales, Marketing and Development Teams as it relates to Interior Design, Residential Selections, and the Move-In phase of new development projects

* Manage the selection and procurement of the furniture, fixtures & equipment of all pre-opening sales centers

* Evaluate all FF&E selections to ensure coordination between concept and finished product

* Monitor and report on all projects to ensure on time and on budget delivery

* Direct procurement and installation of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment

* Establish and maintain pre-opening sales center budgets

* Negotiate and monitor contracts with vendors and consultants from inception through execution

* Coordinate with onsite construction supervision the interior finishes work, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment related issues

* Approve or establish interior finishes specifications of all projects based on regional styles, trends and tastes of demographics

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

* 8+ years’ experience in Commercial Interior Design

* Architecture or Interior Design degree Required

* Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit

* Proficiency in Photoshop, Sketch-Up, InDesign and Microsoft Suite

* Rendering skills a plus

* The ability to work and thrive in a team and independent working scenarios with demonstrable organizational and time management skills
