Job Description

Syneren is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to provide assistance in the management of IT solutions and services for our federal client.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter
  • Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems 
  • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
  • Create and verify backups of data
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Administrative infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
  • Review application logs
  • Install and test computer-related equipment

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have current, active Secret Clearance
  • Associate's degree or higher degree in a related field
  • 2+ years' experience in systems administration 
  • At least one of the following certifications (preferable):
    • CompTIA A+/Security+ Certification
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
  • Extensive experience with VMware
  • Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
  • Basic understanding insurance goals and practices
  • Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on  limited basis
  • Proficient with PowerShell and other scripting skills used to automate messaging processes and reporting
  • Knowledge of Citrix Servers and maintenance concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Security+
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
