Position starts mid-March to early April
Job Description:
This is a full-time seasonal position that works from mid-March to early November. This position does not require travel.
- Load and unload heavy equipment onto a trailer such as asphalt pavers, rollers, backhoes, excavators, etc.
- Transport and deliver heavy equipment to/from job sites
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Perform pre-trip inspection for mechanical and safety issues
- Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision
- Other duties as assigned by Shop Manager
- Ability to work Monday through Saturday during the day. Overtime required.
Position Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age or older
- Valid Class A commercial driver's licence (CDL) with insurable driving record
- Minimum of 1 year heavy equipment driver experience
- Ability to sit and drive for long periods of time
- Walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Ability to follow written and oral directions in English
- Ability to complete written reports and a daily timecard by hand
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles such as dust, dirt, fumes, etc.
- Ability to work in an external environment and under many weather conditions such as frigid cold, heat and humidity, exposure to vibration and or/loud noise
- Will be exposed to working in and around heavy equipment in motion, must be continuously alert to the equipment operators and laborers moving in and around job site
- Will be exposed to various construction job sites with multiple contractors and varying levels of traffic control devices including pilot cars
